The countryside

My apartment is pretty close to some rural areas that are full of farms and small houses.
This is looking back onto the campus.

The Dutch love to trim their trees and then let them grow to look like some kind of sea urchin.

Farms and heavily built-up areas are sometimes right next to each other.
This is the windmill thats close to the city center.
They sell grains and stuff on Saturdays.
Lots of the trees are tied up like this.  Someone told me that it was originally done because fruit trees bear more fruit when this is done to them.

This is what those trees look like from the side.
Regular cat...
... and sunbathing cat.
This is apparently the time of year to trim your tied up trees.
This is on the way to a little farmers' market out in the middle of nowhere.
A small house along the way.
The market building is surrounded by its fields.

Thats one of the student buildings in the background.

I've never been to Holland. The pics give me an appreciation of what the country looks like.
